Alienated was one of my favorite reads of 2014, so I was super excited to hear that Melissa Landers published a free short story about Aelyx and Cara! I downloaded it the day it came out and read it asap. Trust me when I say it doesn't disappoint. Okay, maybe it does a little just because it ends before you know it, and you're left anxiously waiting for Invaded again. Thankfully, Landers was kind enough to leave an excerpt of Invaded at the end which will hopefully hold me over until February. Wait, February?! That's like two months away! *Flails*
I need more of Aelyx. He's one of the swooniest aliens I've ever read about. Okay, I admit I don't read many alien books, but he's up there with Daemon for me so that should say a lot. I mean, the guy stayed up all night to recreate Christmas for Cara! Talk about cute! Why didn't I get an Aelyx for Christmas? So yeah, everyone should read Alienated because it's amazing and you'll love it. Then you should read Until Midnight because it's free (who turns down free books?!) and you get more of Cara and Aelyx! Then after that, you can fangirl over Aelyx and wish for it to be February already ;).

It was a great novella but you have to read book 1 alienated first because it leaves off where the first one ends and I think I author is very good at what she does and you should read her books if you like science fiction romance and I hope you do and if you are looking this up for a teen or even for your self I can tell you that this book series is a very clean series no bad language really and no real sex scenes.
I loved Alienated, so I grabbed this short story. Even though it's a Christmas story, I didn't even care. I had to read it. It was fabulous, and hilarious. Aelyx definitely learned you can't just google something and then understand what it is, but it is the thought that counts! I fell for Aelyx and Cara's romance more than I already did. And I cannot wait for the library to inform me that Invaded is ready for me.
Until Midnight is a cute short story that starts at the end of Alienated but before Invaded happens. Aelyx is getting ready to go back to earth and he won't see Cara for a while. He wants to make Their last night on the spaceship special and since it's close to Christmas he tries to prepare a Christmas surprise for her even though he has no clue about the Holiday.

He makes a bunch of mistakes but Cara thinks it's great because it really is the thought that counts.

If your a fan of Alienated then you will enjoy this short but sweet story centered around the Holidays.

I read Alienated back when it first come out, around those months. I loved the book and was so excited for the next book but when I found out there was going to be a free novella I flipped out. It didn't take me very to finish this book since it wasn't very long anyway. This book brought back so many great memories of when Aelyx (that's how you spell it right?) and Cara and it's a wonderful feeling! I think this is a great way to see how L'eihr is before we get to Invaded. If you read Alienated or want to read Alienated read that first then this book!

Christmas is my most favorite, so whenever I heard that there was a Christmas-y novella starring Cara and Aelyx, I was like why, I do believe I will! I just cannot get over how amazing Melissa Landers' writing is. This is the first time we get a really good look at life on L'eihr. It really made me excited to read Invaded, which is mostly set on L'eihr instead of Earth.

I loved how Cara and Aelyx interacted in this book. It was so warm and fuzzy. I was so sad whenever it was over, but luckily I had Invaded on hand to keep reading after I finished this one. Fans of Alienated HAVE to read this! It's the perfect addition to this series. It made me love Cara and Aelyx even more!
Until Midnight was so cute! Cara is on route to L'eihr and only has twenty-four hours left until Aelyx must return to Earth. It's also the week before Christmas, so she's feeling especially down. But then Aelyx gets this brilliant idea to recreate the holiday for her as best as he can. Of course, since he's never celebrated it before, there are quite a few mishaps. In addition to the adorable Christmas cheer, there's also some mentions of the tension between humans and the L'eihr, which does not bode well for Invaded.

I really enjoyed Until Midnight. It is a solid novella. It's quick, cute, and prepares readers for the next book without feeling like filler material. Aelyx's quest to bring Christmas to space was so funny and reminded me of Jack Skellington trying to explain this "new" holiday to the Halloween folk. There's no context, so it just seems weird! He does his best though, and the results were sweet even when he messed up.
Until Midnight was a short story that bridges the time between Alienated, the first book in the Alienated series, and Invaded, book two. Aelyx and Cara have twenty-four hours until he is sent back to Earth and Cara travels on to L’eihr. To make that special night special, Aelyx sets up a Christmas celebration for Cara.
Until Midnight was deliciously adorable. I loved seeing Aelyx and Cara together. It was extremely sweet to see Aelyx trying to recreate the Earth-holiday to make Cara happy. It was also just the right dose of them to tide me over until book two! I though it set a good stage to get Invaded off to a great start. It made me a lot more excited to see more of them, especially with the four chapter preview of Invaded.
Until Midnight was a cute Christmasy read that was just nice enough touch for Aelyx and Cara that has me pining for book two. And the best part? This short is free! So pick it up while you can and enjoy the Christmasy cuteness.
